Wish List

On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It's where I list all the books I desperately want but haven't actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming. It's also an event that you can join in with too - Mr Linky is always at the ready for you to link your own 'On My Wishlist' post. If you want to know more click here.

My book TBR list is SO LONG now I am not sure how or when I will ever get to it. (thanks a lot bookchickcity and wishlist participants - lol) But I love knowing I will be able to find a book (or eight million) that I love. I decided this Wish List is dedicated to the two (maybe three) I am DYING to read NEXT. Or at least as soon as I am done with Jodi Picoult's Sing You Home and watching Lost Episodes. This last two weeks has been hell at work with inventory. I worked four closing shifts in a row (and I love to go to bed early - like 8pm) followed by two overnights and then yesterday I worked for my boss on my one day off (my next day off isn't scheduled for nine more days). When I crawl into bed at night, my eyes will bleed if I try to read, so sadly these are really going to have to wait a few more days since reading has been so slow and second nature. I've began the last two days with two aspirin and a large glass of water. Sadly, I digress. On to Wish list -

Allison Hewitt is Trapped:

From Booklist Roux’s debut tells the story of a zombie apocalypse through the eyes of Allison Hewitt, graduate student and bookstore employee. Allison is working in the bookstore when she sees one her regular customers have her head bitten off. It’s clear that something very bad has happened. Alison and the survivors lock themselves into the back rooms, hiding out from the relentless zombies. In an attempt to stave off her loneliness and connect with the outside world, Allison begins a blog (blog entries and comments from readers are included at the end of every chapter). The use of the blog as a storytelling device, drawing in additional characters and points of view, helps enliven what is otherwise an average zombie story, albeit one with plenty of action and a high body count. Suggest it to zombie fans who enjoyed Ben Tripp’s Rise Again (2010) or Charlie Huston’s Sleepless. --Jessica Moyer

Hex Hall:

Synopsis

Three years ago, Sophie Mercer discovered that she was a witch. It's gotten her into a few scrapes. Her non-gifted mother has been as supportive as possible, consulting Sophie's estranged father-an elusive European warlock-only when necessary. But when Sophie attracts too much human attention for a prom-night spell gone horribly wrong, it's her dad who decides her punishment: exile to Hex Hall, an isolated reform school for wayward Prodigium, a.k.a. witches, faeries, and shapeshifters. By the end of her first day among fellow freak-teens, Sophie has quite a scorecard: three powerful enemies who look like supermodels, a futile crush on a gorgeous warlock, a creepy tagalong ghost, and a new roommate who happens to be the most hated person and only vampire on campus. Worse, Sophie soon learns that a mysterious predator has been attacking students, and her only friend is the number-one suspect. As a series of blood-curdling mysteries starts to converge, Sophie prepares for the biggest threat of all: an ancient secret society determined to destroy all Prodigium, especially her.

And the last book I will have to figure out a way to read next, Jennifer Rardin's series JazPark, which I know I have already listed as a wishlist book, but seriously, I am dying to read this!!
Once Bitten, Twice Shy:

Synopsis:

Jaz Parks is an assistant assassin who works for the CIA. She and her boss, Vayl, have just received an assignment to meet, assess, and neutralize a Miami plastic surgeon with some disturbing supernatural connection. A spunky tale with real bite.

Which books can you not live without reading NEXT?

Those look like fun reads. I like the idea of the book with blog posts and comments as part of the story. I just added "Devotion" by Dani Shapiro to my list.

Have fun reading! Your books look good, but I'm most envious of your LOST watching. I wish I could go back and watch it from the beginning again (without knowing what happens). It was such an amazing show!

I need to read Hex Hall as well. I couldn't really get into Jaz Park's Once Bitten, Twice Shy, but I've heard so many good things about it.
