Quilts of Lancaster County #2

Publish Date: April 28, 2011
Paperback, 320 pages

From the moment this book started I fell in love. I am a big fan of Lancaster County books and especially the Amish country and culture. The books I have read make it seem like a wonderfully peaceful way. This book was no exception.

Chris is an ex-soldier who encountered Jenny in a hospital while recovering. They formed a good bond learning from each other how to cope. When Chris finally comes home, he cannot get the words from Jenny out of his mind. He sets off to meet up with her and see if she can help with the demons still lurking.

When he gets to Jenny's home he meets her husband and her sister-in-law, Hannah. He is instantly attracted to Hannah due to her unusual Amish way of speaking her mind. Hannah is suspect of Chris and his intentions. Chris accepts a position to help at their farm until a hand is done recovering from surgery. The more he stays, the more he feels like he is meant to be here.

I really enjoyed the wonderful relationship between Hannah and her brother, Matthew. They give each other insights to life and themselves. The conversations that were held within this small family home were so warm. I was rooting for the foursome from the beginning. Sadly, there are troubles to deal and secrets to open up with as well.

Check out the first book in the series, A Time to Love.
